Alpha-Galactosidase is an enzyme used to break down starchy, hard-to-digest foods such as peanuts, beans, lentils and cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower.  These food have carbohydrates linked to proteins or fats (known as glycoproteins or glycolipids) which are hard to disintegrate in the gut, often resulting in abdominal cramps, indigestion, excessive gas, and bloating.  Our body produces alpha-galactosidase in the mouth as well as in the pancreas, however, with age, it begins to produce less and thus supplementation is necessary.

Alpha-Amylase

Amylase is found mainly in pancreatic juice and saliva, it facilitates the hydrolysis of starch molecules into maltose.  It is an enzyme used for the digestion of potato, wheat, corn, and rice.

Lactase
